Just What I Needed

I've been doing a good deep clean in my house lately. Do you ever do that? Just feel like you need to super clean your house. I have for a long time needed a place to put my necklaces. I was mostly just laying them on the dresser, but that looks really cluttered, which bothers me. As I was cleaning, I decided I just have to take a crafting break. I do this all the time. Work on one project, then start another one right in the middle.

Anyways.... I decided to just make this jewelry hanger. And here's how I did it:

You will need:

A board (I used what I already had in the building. Idon't even know what size it is. So just make it whatever size you want)
Some scrap fabric to fit your board
Some small tack nails
Hot Glue Gun
Spray paint (optional)

Not Pictured:
Buttons or jewels for decorating
Ribbon
Lace

First I painted my tack nails. They were white, I wanted a cream color to match the fabric. You don't have to do this.

While that was drying I sanded the edges of the board and stapled on the fabric.

I then measured out every 1.5 inches staggered for my tack nails, and tacked them in part way. I then glued the bottons on the tacks to make them pretty :-)

At first I thought I was just gonna hang necklaces on this. But then I saw this piece of lace I cut off the bottom of a shirt that I used for another project. I knew this would be perfect to hang earrings on. So I hot glued it on as well.

I added this simple black ribbon just for some deoration.

I think it turned out perfect for me. Now I have an organized place to put my jewelry. No more tangled messes on my dresser. Just some prettiness on the inside of my closet door, which is open most of the time so I can see it often :-) LOL
